Appeals to ego, cream to eradicate wrinkles, sneaky and underhand business deal, reporting company to Canadian fraud groups

Miscellaneous

An e-mail offer claimed you could lessen wrinkles by using their cream. To do so, the company would send you a sample to try and would "only" charge shipping. An amount of $13.09 was charged to my Visa account on February 21 and paid by me on February 28. Two small bottles of cream arrived and as I didn't like it, I didn't do anything about it.

My Visa has now been charged $74 plus, May 9. I did not order any cream and none has arrived. I contacted my bank/visa but they are unable to help.

This is a scam. I am contacting Canada's Federal police (RCMP fraud squad), the Federal and Provincial governments' consumer protection branches and, as I am a member of both AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) and CARP (Canadian Association of Retired Persons), a copy will go to them. I will explore other avenues as well. There are probably thousands of people who will not report this because it plays on the ego. No one wants people to know they are trying to get rid of wrinkles!

I also sent an e-mail to the company asking for a refund and informing them I was alerting Canadian authorities to this scam.
