Suckered me into paying $60 for questionable auction bids, with no evidence that auction is legimate

Miscellaneous

In my search for ways to use mileage credit with Continental Airlines, I found nothing but travel offers or merchandise which can be purchased with miles and cash.

Somehow I ended up at Qui-Bids, who enticed me into paying $60 for 103 "bids" for items being sold on the web site for a fraction of their value, such as a $200 department store gift card for $1.87 or so.

OK. I should have known. But the scam is irresistable, making it all into some kind of game that, it turns out, must be fixed.

Pretending to be a legitmate auction, this operation offers so proof or evidence whatsoever that it is run legitmately, and I, as a dopey but ever hopeful customer, soon discovered that the items being offered were the bait, and the "bid" game was the switch.

If the site can provide proof that it is actually operating a legitimate auction, then I stand to be corrected. Also, I will eat my hat.

I am going to attempt to get a refund after using only a few "bids", but I have a feeling it will not be so easy.

Please add my name to the fast growing list of people who appear to have been ripped off by Qui-Bids.
