Condo upgrades fraud

Good day, I am a concerned condo ownerIn 2007 purchased a condo, I am just days away from closing the sale and I am having issues with the builder. I am trying to get the matter investigated so this doesn't happen to anybody else. Back in September- October I was invited to the condo sales offices to choose finishes for the inside of my condo, cabinets, flooring, faucets... I was giving a price list with the cost of those upgrades. I had a credit of $5000 from the builder, so after review I choose upgrades not exceeding the amount $5000.in February I was told by my lawyer that I had to pay $5217.70 in upgrades. For some reason the builder decided to change is upgrade price list from the original and was charging me $10217.70 minus my $5000 for a balance of $5217.70. A lot of the correspondence with the builder representative was done by email. They advise me that I did agree to the $5217.70 in one of the emails but not knowing that this amount was on top of the $5000. If I had up the prices of the upgrades from the original price list it doesn't ad up to the same amount. So as it stand I am paying $10217.70, for 600 sq ft of upgraded laminate flooring, getting upper cabinet in my kitchen from 30" to 39", for 3 upgraded faucet and a over the stove microwave hood fan. I am even installing/providing my own tiles for the kitchen/bathroom floor and backsplash. Isn't this over priced or even illegal? This builder seems very shady to me and is practices dishonest. This is a new condo building on Lake Shore Blv. And I am just trying to advise the other buyers of the builder dishonest way of conducting business. Do you have any reporter that would be interested in investigating this story and bring it to light. So buyers don't have to be at the mercy of big bullying builders.
