Sends scam letter to stick me for $3620.43, out of

So i get home from work today, and what do i find waiting in my mailbox, a plain white letter with a stamp from canada. Now I'm pretty young but I'm positive i dont know anyone out of canada so i opened said letter with a vauge sence of doubt.inclosed was a letter that begins in 15 point faunt and all capital letters; Re: final award notification. I read a little further and it tells me i have won $45,000. Unfortunatly I know a few things; one, companies dont just give away $45,000. Two, if i dont enter in a sweepstakes, chances are that i cant win. And three when a company is sending a letter without a return address on it and a stamp from canada, a P.O. Box out of West Memphis and a bank address out of Minneapolis, I know its time to turn to GOOGLE. Luckly (or unfortunatly), enough people have gotten these letters just like me and posted on google that its a scam.

Now i dont know how we can stop these people but its infuriating to think that they are praying on elderly people, like the lovely lady down the street who brings cookies by every week just to be nice, or other every day people. All i know is this needs to stop.
