Dear SCEG, I recently opened my bill to discover a $903 balance. I was absolutely floorboarded! Has I am (or so I thought) a badget bill customer. Now, I knew my previous balance wasnt paid but this amount was far greater than I anticipated. After calling and speaking with a represenative whom could not even explain this to me, I spoke with a supervisor Dan. He informed me that I had been dropped from budget billing and all my extra usage was now due this month. I had no idea, was NEVER informed that this could happen when I signed up. I hope that conversation was recorded because I am seriously thinking of contacting the newspaper / news over this sham you are running. Dan informed me that this information is clearly written out online under budget billing. Well first off, I did not sign uo online! Obviously I had to call and speak with a represenative. When I signed up this was never explained to me that if my bill wasnt paid by due date I would be dropped and my balance due. Had it been I would have never signed up nor do I think your represenative would have signed me up seeing has how I always pay my bill on my pay day which is usually the week after its due. Next, I looked at budget billing online and it says nothing about having to be paid on time. It says in extreme usage or fluxuations at the end of cycle you may be due a credit or owe a balance! I feel taking advantage of by a company that knows you cant just go out and switch electric companies like a phone company. I hope that whom ever reads this email will take the time to make some changes because its only a matter of time before you do this to enough people and it gets made public and SCEG finds themselves in some large lawsuit.
