X-bids
I won an auction for I-pad, they sent letter of congratulations to me. Now refuse to acknowledge that I won

Miscellaneous

I signed up to bid on auctions on the x-Bids site. It was a pop up on my computer. I read the rules, etc. And had heard about similar companies. I put $75 worth of bids on my credit card. Spent 3-4 hours bidding on items. The bid that wins, at the end of countdown, wins the item. I found it very difficult to win because the timer would keep stopping in the final 3-8 second countdown. The explanation for this, according to the terms of acceptance, was that it occasionally happened due to program glitches. Well, it kept happening, in every auction, then it would start back up at 14 seconds. I went through numerous bids on each auction. The timing is essential, to be the final bidder when the countdown hits "0". The stopping of the timer, after a bid naturally, made it very difficult to even get to "1" never mind "0". I made a bid on this I-pad when the countdown was at "2" and the countdown stopped. The next thing that happens is I receive a letter of congratulations for winning the bid; it instructed me to click on this site and pay for my winning bid. I tried to do this several times and was kicked back to the original letter of congratulations. On my 4th or 5th try, instead of the pay here section, it stated "cancelled". I contacted the company several times to no avail. I have all of the emails to back up this statement. I even contacted the BBB of Northern Ca. And have had no results yet. I think this is a big rip off and want my I-pad. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. I won the auction on 11/22/10.
