I placed an order for a Samsung 46 inch HDTV and got an email immediately afterwards asking that I contact them to "confirm and verify" my order the next business day. There was nothing I needed to verify, I knew full well what I had purchased based on all the information shared. I called as requested this past Monday anyway.
No I know why they want to talk to you... Eye opening call... Nowhere in the order process was it disclosed that that the TV I bought was a used, refurbished TV. When I asked the CSR where the disclosure was, I was told there wasn't one anywhere and that the purpose of the call was to confirm I was "OK" with the order.
Good deal or not, I don't do business with companies that start out mis-representing themselves or their products. 99 times out of a hundred, that means it won't be the last problem you end up with either.in Michigan, it is called bait and switch and it is illegal to falsely advertise/misrepresent goods, accept and order and confidential credit card information and then pull a stunt like this...
I cancelled the order... But... This scamming outfit now has my credit card information... Which I would have never surrendered had the true terms of the sale been disclosed...
