Stanford Who's Who
Pressure and deception!

Miscellaneous

I filled out a form to have a free listing in the Stanford Who's Who. I was called a few days later while I was driving in the car and told I had to make my decision right then if I wanted o be in the "Who's Who" and it as going to cost me $389. For a 3 year subscription and that I would be given a free airline voucher for two tickets to fly FREE anywhere in the world. I was also told that I did not have to stay in a Hotel in order to use the tickets. I saidI would like o research it on the internet first and they said that if I didn't reserve right then the offer would be cancelled. I said yes but kept thinking I had made a mistake. I got out of bed at 4am and called them (Eastern time) and said I wanted to cancel. The woman on the phone said she would take care of it and have customer service call me back later that day. I played phone tag with them for a week, and then the bill showed up on my credit card. When I called Carla at customer service I was told it was to late, they had already processed my order. Now I see on the invoice that they are going to charge another $199 to my card in November!
