Assist2sell
Refund a fee - Up front contract fee

Miscellaneous

We used an Assist2sell broker in Knoxville, TN, who offered a non-refundable, upfront fee of $895. We thought that this was a good deal given the poor seller's market so we signed a contract.in retrospect, there was nothing on the contract that reflected the broker's promises; all that we had was his word. I frequently asked for feedback when we had a showing and he would tell me that a contract would be the feedback. We never knew what the buyer agents were saying about our home. It was also difficult for us to get him to make changes on the price as well as fixing errors. On one occasion in November, I called for three weeks, left messages, and he never returned my call. Since we had paid the fee upfront, we felt that we were obligated to continue with him. The last straw was last month when I called him three times to fix an egregious error on his own Assist2Sell site: our home was in the wrong city, which was misspelled anyway. Apparently, this had been this way for almost a year. If we had not paid an upfront fee, we would simply write this off as a bad experience and would have found another agent. We would like our money back since we feel that this broker did not entirely live up to his end of the contract. So far, he has refused to do so.
