Kroger
Self service checkout

Miscellaneous

I like the self service checkout when I have a handful of things. But, its not meant to be used when you have a full cart of groceries. I've stopped going to Kroger during their 3rd shift because they have NOBODY on register. You have to scan and bag your groceries by yourself. They have an employee that stands and watches a few of the self-service checkout lines. The last time I went there, I had about a $200 order. I would say that 1 out of 4 items wouldn't scan properly. I'd have to try to scan it 2,3, 4 times and then the guy would have to help sometimes. Then I would get that annoying 'Please remove the item from the belt' recording because it thinks you are stealing something. I got so angry that I asked the employee if I should get an apron and name tag and go help stock shelves since I basically work at the store. On a different day, I couldn't get a few pounds of shrimp to ring up — It kept asking me for the SKU number and I kept putting it in and it kept saying wrong number. There was nobody there to help with it and I was entering the number as it appeared on the tag. I go so frustrated that I grabbed my grapes and got the SKU number from them and I rang the shrimp up as grapes. I think I got $40 worth of shrimp for $2.99. I'm typically as honest as they come - but I just had it up to here with this nonsense. I won't shop there during 3rd shift anymore.
