Granton Marketing - I. e K.V. G Advertising, I.e. Bellstar Promotions
Granton Marketing I. E K.V. G Advertising, I.E. Bellstar Promotions Thanks to usacomplaints.com, I didn't make a huge mistake

Miscellaneous

I consider myself to be a somewhat intelligent job-seeker, usually smelling a scam right away. Had it not been for consumer complaints.com, I would have made a huge fool of myself.

I recently submitted a resume to an adverstising company. Here is their ad: " KGV Advertising is an aggressive, multi-state promotional advertising firm based in the Detroit area. Our unique form of advertising has allowed us to build an extensive Fortune 500 and blue chip clientele base. Even through rough economic times, our company continues to grow and expand.

K.G.V. Finds that with teamwork, a winning attitude, and exceptional work ethic anything and everything is possible.

Our portfolio consists of a variety of clients in industries such as:

*Sports/Recreational
*Hospitality
*Entertainment
*Golf Courses (public & private)
*Fine dining

To ensure that our clients are being handled with the proper attention they deserve, K.G.V. Offers a unique training program that consists of training a few select individuals in all aspects of the company.

*Sales/Marketing
*Account Management
*Client Relations
*Project Management
*Administration
*Management

We are looking for self-motivated individuals that are not afraid to roll up the sleeves and get their jersey's dirty.

All positions are FULL-TIME and ENTRY-LEVEL with RAPID ADVANCEMENT towards mid-level and upper management based on merit. Our company only promotes from within, as our management team always will lead by example.

*no experience is necessary/we'll provide paid training immediately*

Positions are looking to be filled immediately. Applicants from the Detroit area only unless willing to relocate.
Competitive merit based compensation."

This, to me, sounded authentic enough. They emailed me to call them back - they called me first. Thinking oh, great, this sounds somewhat promising, I went to the email they had sent. They listed a website to Granton Marketing, their parent company. After not really finding out a ton of information from their site, I entered "Granton Marketing" into a search engine and boy did the negative feedback ever come flooding in. After finding out what a scam Granton, Cydcor and DS-Mas and affiliates were, I decided to check out other positions I had applied for. Lo and behold, I had submitted another resume to a differently named company (Bellstar Promotions) that used the same address and phone number of that listed in the K.V. G advertising ad. So, at 9:00 A.M. Today, only 5 hours before my scheduled interview, I decided to call them for some additional information. I was first greeted by a receptionist who knew nothing. She transferred me to the person I would be interviewing with. When I asked if the position was actually door-to-door selling, she said she didn't know. I asked about the dreaded "Day of Observation" I had heard so much about on this and other websites, and she laughed nervously and said, yes, if they decided that they were interested, I would come back for the "Day of Observation". I then proceeded to cancel my interview and let her know that their ad was misleading and how unprofessional I thought that was. Having an interview for another company on Monday, I decided to research them as well, and thankfully, they are not affiliated.

To Michigan job seekers, I did not find much in the Michigan area here, which is why I wanted to post. Be wary of K.V. G Advertising and Bellstar Promotions as they are affiliated with Granton and DS-Max. If you want to sell door-to-door, it may be for you. If I were looking for a sales position myself, I would have directly searched for that, but I am not a sales type person. I have also contacted the local news investigative team regarding this matter. Hopefully one day, misleading ads like this towards hard-working job seekers will be illegal or at the very least exposed for what they really are.
