Parking scam in New orleans

While visiting N.O. Champion Square For a meet & greet with N.O. Saints we made the mistake of parking at Central Parking Lot for the advertised price of $6.00 a day. When we pulled in at aruond noon a man approached, told us to park in a spot gave my husband a ticket, asked for $ 5.00 (which we paid) & then left. When we returned 2 hours later there was a boot on our car along with 2 other cars that had been booted. One had a handicapped sticker, the other N.O.P.D. Tag, a guy approached said we were there illegally& had to pay $115.00 in order to leave. I explained to no avail, we paid because we had no other choice, later that night a cab driver told us its well known scam, instead of making $18.00 on 3 cars they make $345.00. The cab driver said he'd be happy to verify this i have his info
