Unfair and deceptive trade practices, possible fraud

Mor market research advertised on one of the following radio stations on august 23 between 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm:

Wor radio-710 am

Wabc radio-770 am

Wfan-660 am

Espn radio-1050 espn

I am not sure which of the above stations but i did hear the following ad:

They are conducting a market research study on gasoline buying habits of consumers and in exchange consumers get a $300 gas debit card to be used to buy gas with.

The phone number they gave was: 1-888-462-5960

I called the number on aug 23 and spoke with an unknown female who told me if i wanted to participate in the study and get the $300 gas debit card i had to give them ($23.66 approx.) for shipping and handling.

I tried reasoning with the woman who answered the call that the cost of postage for mailing me the debit card should not be more than. 44 (forty four cents)

I tried explaining to her that most legitimate market research companies do not ask for any money in advance.

The fact of the matter is most legitimate market research or focus groups pay consumers for participating in the study.

She refused to give me the street address for the company.

Do not give this company your money!!!

This company is a scam!!!
