On-line work at home fraud

I was looking for "At home Work" to do on-line and saw this ad for $1.97 to get information. I figured that it wasn't that much to waste if it was a scam.in the fine print it states you will be charged $79.99 monthly if you do not cancel your new contract. I cancelled within one hour of signing up. The customer service girl I talked to could not see my account, but assured me it would not be charged anything else other than the $1.97. When I got my statement there was also a charge of $79.99. I called the phone number and it was no longer in service so got another number online. The person I got told me she saw a cancellation and put me on hold. She came back and said there was nothing she could do other than cancel the contract. I asked her if I would get a refund and she said "No." When asked why, she said they don't give refunds. I asked her why I was charged to begin with and she said it was never cancelled. I said you just told me you saw a cancellation. I was put on hold again. After being put on hold 5 times and on the phone over an hour, I finally got switched to a supervisor who said they cannot do anything but cancel the account now and don't give refunds and their office makes no mistakes. This whole thing is a scam. I never received anything for either of the the amounts I was charged.
