Ray Scott & Sheila Harris BIG SCAM - BEWARE or it could cost you THOUSANDS!

I received a letter in the mail from Consumer Care Inc advising the I had won $250.000.00 from a shoppers sweepstakes that is accredited by the BBB and sponsored by a bunch of commonly known stores such as Wal-Mart and Home Depot. There was also a check for $3985.00 to cover taxes on the winning. Before cashing the check I was to call the number and speak to Ray Scott. The bank on the check was Wester National Band out of Phoenix, AR. I checked, there is no such place. Consumer Care Inc address on the check was out of Tempe, AR. Again, no such place.

I went on the internet and searched for Shoppers sweepstakes scam and bingo! Read a bunch of stories how some people got the same exact letter. The ones who cashed the check and sent the money to the scammer ended up losing the money out of their bank account because the check was a fake so they had to reimburse the bank.

I called the number and asked how they got my info. Guy tells me that the store gave it to him. I ask which store. He says it doesn't matter. I push further and he says Wal-Mart. I tell him that Wal-Mart did not have my permission to give out my info and that I'm going to contact my lawyer. He gets upset and tells me to forget it and not to call back and hangs up on me. I call him back and he knows it is me. Answers the phone, "What do you want?" I tell him that I called back to advise that I am reporting him to the authorities as a fraud and scam artist and hang up on him.

I reported him to the BBB in Canada and posted this for all to read in hopes that they won't get ripped off.
