Ok, I got a letter as well stating that I owed $919.00 for "the sale of counterfeit Your Baby Can Read Products". First of all these were my personal products that i purchased and decided I did not need. Second, I did not buy 10 or 20 of these I bought three with the intentions of giving them to some family and friends. I discovered my family members did not need all of them so i posted the rest on Ebay.

About 6 months later I get this letter in the mail talking about I owe over $900.00 for the sale of counterfeit products!!! I called and spoke to my attorney and she said that I could be fined due to the use of the Your baby can read name alone on ebay and that I should call Johnson & Pham, LLp and explain my situation. I called and called and after about a week of phone tag got an attorney on the phone. She consistently badgered me about having the kits like i walked into the company and stole them or I had a "connnection" boosting them out of the back door of the company! Eventually she after saying "I don't know why, maybe its because its Monday I am feeling generous" she said she would lower the price from $919 to $600 ($200 per kit).

She sent me another letter and than i decided to look up the company personally and found them on this site. I saw people on here saying they were not going to pay and that they threw away the letter and all but I can't afford to be taken to court incase they do choose to pursue this further so I am rolling over for now and paying $600.00 I dont have in ten days. I will be checking them out on other sites as well but was advised to contact consumer affairs as well as the attorney general, this firm should be investigated.

This is ridiculous! All this and I am a single father going to school and trying to raise my kids in an economy that is terrible. Well I guess for now we will chalk one up for "BIG CORPORATE AMERICA" while I figure out how to pay the rent this month. If anyone has the funds to start up a class action law suite I will be more than happy to join you so feel free to contact me!
