Door to door scam

Miscellaneous

It was really nice outside and warm in my house so I had the front door open while the screen was closed letting some air into my house. There was a knock at the door and two young gentleman standing there. They had already spotted me, so it was too late to pretend no one was home plus you could see through the screen. So I answered the door and they said they needed my help for a fund raiser for class. That I needed to sign up for magazines, but since I am also a college student, I would be able to cancel the subscription tomorrow and get my money back. I told the men I wasn't interested but they insisted we go inside and talk about it. I was home alone and am a 21 year old female, I continued to say no, and tell the men that I was not interested. They forced their way into my house and made themselves at home on my couch. I continued to say I wasn't interested and asked them to leave. They would not leave until I wrote them checks for the magazines assuring me the whole time that I would get my money back. The men had the forms already filled out and I was so scared that I did what they said because I wanted them to leave and they were scaring me. I had to write them four checks with amounts of $63, $63, $66, $71. One of the forms didn't even have my information on it. Finally they left and I called the police. I got online to look up the company after talking to the police and my mother and found the reports on here. I called the bank and have to pay $31 per check to put a stop payment on each check. Do not let these people take your money!!!
