Lafayette Ambassador Bank
No written correspondence or due diligence

Miscellaneous

I had a savings acct. W / lafayette bank. I received a call one day to say i over spent my limit and that i needed to come in and put money in my account. I asked how much. The girl said $100.00, which i did several days (only) later. Meanwhile i received nothing in the mail with regard to my checking account. Not one piece of correspondence. Because it was linked to my direct deposit, and money was coming out of paycheck, i thought all was well. Well, it wasn't. They canceled my acct.in april without any warning, via mail or phone, yet continued to charge me $5.95 daily interest. I went in to the bank, and they said i only deposited $78.00, which is not true. They had started to deducted the interest. It is august, so from april to august 23 they have been charging me interest. It went to collections, which i never knew until last week. I think it is outrageous. I went into the bank and demanded to see the manager. I demanded to see the correspondence regarding this overdraft, or why they stopped sending me my account information. What they did to my credit rating, without 1 letter of documentation is outrageous. If you are a customer, or know someone who is, i would strongly advise you to not bank with this people. Dirty what they did to me, and they ruined my credit. Now i can't even cash a check, over a $100.00 fee that i didn't even know i had, because they compounded $5.95 a day from april to august 23. I am contacting consumer affairs and the department of banking and insurance. This is outrageous.
