Unauthorized sell of Deceased Mother's clothes

After being contacted by friend's of my Mother and informed that Mother's clothes had been sold by Town and Country cleaners, I visited the cleaners on 4-2-10 to discuss the matter with Penny. Penny informed me that my mother's clothes had been at the cleaners since August so they were sold. I informed Penny that no one from Town and Country had attempted to contact me and no notifications had been sent to my mother's house during her illness of after her death to inform us that clothes were at the cleaners. When I asked Penny for the original cleaning receipts, she stated that she had them, but refused to give them to me. I asked for a copy of the policy that gives the cleaners the right to sell my Mother's clothes. I was directed to the back of a blank cleaning ticket which states the following: Conditions: We are not responsible for articles not claimed within 30 days. My position is that the cleaners had no right to sell my Mother's clothes. This is a small town and my Mother had been a patron of this business since it opened over 30 years ago. No effort was put forth to contact my Mother or me verbally or in writing regarding the status of her clothing. I could find over 100 people in this town to attest that my Mother wore high end clothing and was a very classy and popular lady in Crockett Texas. She wore top of the line clothing. I'm sure her clothes were a prime sell after the cleaners became aware of her death. I have recently spoken with individuals who have informed me that they have left clothing there for over 30 days, and the cleaners did not sell them. When I had a local family friend to contact the cleaners to obtain the correct spelling of Penny's first and last name, the phone was hung up in his face.
