Unethical Hiring Practices

After passing a gauntlet of interviews, psychological evaluations, and hours of travel, I received a phone call offering me a job as a recruiter for this fly-by-night staffing company. I was told to show up to work on a Monday.

The Monday I reported for work, I was told to come back the next day as they have not completed my new hire paperwork and Tuesday would be a better start for the company. I happily left thinking I would be back the next day.

At the end of the business day (and no phone calls from the company), I phoned my would-be boss to make sure all is well and that we would be good to start the following day. I was informed that they had a meeting (that day) and due to the relocation of one of their current employees, they would not be needing my services after all.

I had passed on 3 different job opportunities to work for this company, and the entire hiring process took almost 2 weeks to complete. Only a marginal company with marginal people would mislead a business professional such as myself during these difficult economic times.

I encourage all of you seeking employment in the San Antonio area to not give this company the time of day because you may find that you are treated the same as I.

By far, the worst job experience I have ever had the displeasure of encountering, and by far, the most unethical.
