This may have happened before and may happen again in the future. A snow plow was delivered to this company on consignment. The recently widowed women would not have been aware of any changes made to it. It was new and only used twice in three years and had no wear and tear.
It never sold and I noticed the hydraulic pump/motor assembly must had been switched out to an old unit with leaks and missing parts. The blade and rams were the same and the serial number was on the blade. I also noticed the same pump/motor model number was mounted on one of thier rental trucks, which looked brand new but with a different blade.
When I confronted the store owner, he assured me it was the same one on consignment and the oil on the pump/motor unit was residual. It never had any residual hydraulic oil on it in the first place since it was almost new. He them asked me to contact the owner to have it removed since it had been 6 months. What a scam. The owner is very upset and will have it removed so they can't get anymore parts off it. They already had the most valued part off it. I have pictures and will submit later.
