Dave Novinger, Dawn Westar Security treats trainees unprofessionally, suspiciously

People looking for security guard work should avoid Westar Security in Littleton, Colorado. I went through its current "owner" Dave Novingers two day training at a gated community site named Coventry. It is how Westar treats trainees that is unethical and unprofessional. Before I get into that I found it suspicious that Novinger runs his company from his own home while being very reluctant about revealing the name of Westars original owner. Further, the BBB website stated that they requested information from the owner Charles Clark but that Westar never sent the information. But here is how Novinger at Westar treats trainees: I was training with another newbie, someone named Sonny. We were trained by Novingers pet worker, Dawn. While there, other trainee started an argument about gun owners being cowards. I responded they werent.in the course of the brief argument, Dawn read too much into my statements about legal protections of gun owners on employer property. As a result, she presumed incorrectly I was going to bring (legal) firearms onto Coventry property. However, I didnt know she made this mistaken presumption until later, since she said nothing to me about her presumption during my training time. A day later, Dave Novinger calls and leaves a surprise message saying that he wasnt hiring me. His reason was Dawns telling him that I said (or implied as Novinger put it) I was going to bring guns onto the property. Of course, I really did not say or imply any such thing. So Novinger makes a hiring decision about me without getting my side of the story. Now bigger security companies I have worked for have true professionals who can resolve such conflicts by getting all sides of the story before making a decision to not hire or terminate. The fact Novinger did not get my side of the story BEFORE refusing employment is unprofessional and lacking in objectivity.in fact, he allowed himself to get biased by what the other two had said. The above situation also demonstrates that if you try working for Novingers Westar Security company, then your hire (or fire) will be capriciously based on things you never said. (They will merely claim you implied something then read too much into your statements). Nor will your side of the story be gathered before such a hiring or termination decision is made. Plus you will be discriminated against for your political views. Like I was for saying something positive about gun-ownership. If all of the above things can happen to me, they can happen to other potential employees. It is disrespectful treatment they give you and you will find you wasted your time with them. When I called Novinger and we talked, I set the record straight but Novinger still treated it like my supposed bringing of firearms onto Coventry property was still an issue. So I made sure he was going to send me my trainee pay for the two days of training.in fact, when they had my training pay at the office they never called me about it&even after I asked Novinger about it over the phone. I had to persistently get on them about it, then finally his inefficient secretary sent it via mail.
