Offered a $1,000 online shopping spree and required a magazine subscription

Miscellaneous

I was told I had won a $1,000 shopping spree and the only charges I would have to pay would be $3.59 a month for the magazine subscriptions that they required. A packet was promised in the mail within 3 days to explain any further details. This packet would also include a list of several different magazines to choose from. The overall scam consisted of three separate phone calls supposedly from the previous person's supervisor of some sort. The first went by Nick and claimed to be new with the company so he was going to be checked up on with a phone call shortly after. I can't remember the second, but he claimed a similar story and told me I would receive a final phone call to solidify the arrangement. This final caller went by Charles Williams, he mentioned the website and claimed a company name that they were connected with as Blue Whale something or other. All three of the callers spoke very quickly so as to confuse my thoughts and foolishly I tried to keep up but still be able to sound coherent and smart. They can all talk a good game so if you know anyone else who would just give in and not question everything enough, please inform them of this company and website.
