The 1storder was due to be delivered before we made the 2nd. It was not. Shortly after the 2nd we got an email about order 2 suggesting wehad picked the wrong frames and the prescription was not right. We told themthey were garbling something and that not only were the frames correct but theprescription had been checked with the optometrist. They were not satisfied sowe phoned them and they demanded we fax the prescription, which we did, andthey finally acknowledged on another call that the scrip was fine and so werethe frames. Then they said our order #1 was all wrong and demanded wefax the prescription for that one. So we phoned their 800 number and got Desmond and read himthe order number and asked what the problem was. He assured us there was noproblem and that the order would be on our doorstep within a week. That wasover a week ago. Then we got an email from zennilab@gmail.com that said sincewe had not responded to them, they were cancelling the order. We emailed them back and told them that indeed we hadresponded and that Desmond said all was OK and suggested that they reinstatethe order or we would notify everyone on the web of their rudeness andincompetence. They evidently do not care. Some things are clear about Zenni Optical: — The clerks working at Zenni Optical like to do thatbureaucratic thing where they make things difficult for you just because theycan. Most reviewers and complainersabout Zenni Optical note Zenni personnel are snotty. See: and, the 2 leading consumer sites on internet-purchased eyewear.— Zenni Optical people do not know what they are doing.— Zenni Optical has their spectacles made in China (accordingto Desmond). Somehow in the crossing things get crossed. — There is no communication between people at Zenni Opticalso if one person tells you one thing it is not reliable because another willtell you something else.— Zenni Optical never answers its email. Only way we gotemail attention from them is when we made the orders and they emailed to causetrouble. They used zennilab@gmail. Comfor that. And they NEVER sign their messages so you never know whom to speakto.— Zenni Opticals 800 number is often unanswered and we arereferred to voicemail. But then the voicemail box is full so we cannot leave amessage! Others things are a bit murky. For example The BetterBusiness Bureau evidently considers the Oregon Zenni Optical as some kind ofshady operation. The Better Business Bureau reports that Zenni Optical is notan accredited business and reports many complaints, most handledunsatisfactorily — see more at. This is a complaint on
most pleasant reviews on zenni are written by their employees. Take your business elsewhere!

P.S. Thespectacles we did receive from Zenni broke at the rims after 2 months (whilethey were being worn — no trauma to them). It was that the plastic in themcould not withstand the stretch necessary to accommodate the lens. It must bethat Chinese melamine we have all come to know and love.
