I have have been dealing with this collections agency for over a year and I'm not sure that it will ever end and I cannot believe that they haven't been sued and put out of business yet.

I found out in October that on my criedit report that I had a delinquent account. I had no idea what it was for. There was no phone number or account information listed on the credit report and I was never contacted by and agency. I also had never defaulted on any payments on anything.

In February I received a phone call from this company trying to collect on a money from a lease from 2006. They were/are trying to collect on a lease in the amount of $1,500. That's when I first found out what the account was actually for. So for several months they reported me which negatively impacted my credit score and they way my credit would be evaluated from then on. Being less than 30 days is not a big deal but anything more than that usually is. I know this because worked for a bank.

So finally after being contacted by the company I explained to them I was removed from the lease. He (Wayne) said it wouldn't be a problem to correct the information as long as I could provide the documentation which I did. They never contacted me as promised to let me know they received the paperwork and they did not return my phone calls when I left messages for them. So after several months I contacted the attorney general of pa. Unfortunately they weren't much help either. They were how ever able to confirm with the debtors that the lease amendment was received by the company and that the company was pursing for one months rent. One month's rent would have been $750 not $1,500. After that I was still not able to rectify the situation.

So I hired a lawyer. At this point it has been going on for a year by the time I contacted the lawyer. She reviews everything and contacts them. She is finally able to confirm that I was only on the lease for a short time. The company agrees to let me pay half of one months rent $390 in exchange for amending my credit within 30-45 days. I wasn't exactly thrilled since my credit would never be completely restored but my lawyer thought it was fair so I paid it. I feel that since I put a security deposit down they should have exhausted that to cover the month's rent they were pursing. Also I would have even been willing to pay the one month of rent that my roommate never paid at 100% if it had been brought to my attention before negatively impacting my credit score. Obviously I can't take care something I'm not aware of.

So I paid the $390 three months ago. Unfortunately the collections agency did not hold up their end of the deal. When I applied for a mortgage this month it showed up as money still owed. I contacted them inquiring why it wasn't off and the supervisor couldn't give me an answer except that I still owed them the whole $1,100. I'm still not finished with them yet though. Stupid of them that they put our agreement on paper and it was sent to my attorney. Needless to say I'll be following up with my lawyer.

Needless to say... I hate these people.
