I bought MS Office Professional over the 'net for a very reasonable price, but it wasn't particularly cheap so I thought it was genuine. When it arrived a few days later, it certainly looked it, with the certificate attached to the case and the holographic discs - I was convinced! It loaded OK until - uh-oh...
Why was there an instruction in Chinese? I think I should've realised there was something wrong then, but hey! This is published in a lot of languages, right? Maybe it was a glitch, and as I hadn't a clue what the application was and it didn't look "important", I just clicked on the right button (always 'No', right?!).
Since then, I've been getting messages saying that this wasn't a legit copy, but I kept running it anyway. I noticed that I only had a couple of days to sort it out before to was to be marked invalid.
This was clearly a bootleg copy, although it did look genuine, both on the website and in the hand. They've been very clever with their reproduction units - but do NOT buy from them!
FOOTNOTE:
I went onto the Microsoft site to see what I could do. There was an offer to people who'd been duped to get a replacement. So I jumped through their hoops and filled in the form - only to be told at the very end that my Active X wasn't working properly on my machine! Rubbish!!! It is, it always has been, and there's nothing wrong with it, so MS have also shat on me by reneging on their promise to put things right.
All I want it a product that WORKS! MS have us all by the short and curlies, and they won't even back up their words.
Is this really too much to ask?
