Boyd Roberts refinanced our home and quoted our loan fees whichwere where told would be zero—he would only take his fee from the bank. Ourclosing date was fast approaching and we were very nervous, he delayed anddelayed until the last possible day. When he had his notary arrive our feeswere over $5,000 dollars for the loan. When we balked and had the notary callhim (he was on speaker and did not know) he told the notary that we had to signor it would not close and that we had not choice but to sign. Further, he toldthe notary "do not come back here with out those documents signed, I don'tcare what you have to do." We signed and reported him to the DRE andnothing has ever come of it.inaddition to this loan, when we could no longer make our payments because theloan was an adjustable and increased by almost $800 per month his wife KristiRoberts told us that she could "short sale" our home, that we couldlive there for free for "probably a year". Sheinstructed us to stop making our payments so that, as she put it, the bankwould start talking to her. We were evicted in 6 months and now live withmy mother with our newborn child. We spoketo some of the people that used to work with Kristi and Boyd and they told usthis is common practice—push the loan out so that the consumer will be forcedto sign or loose the mortgage/home they want—that way they don't pull outbecause of the fees. They then target all of those adjustable rates they soldand try to get the home owners to short sell their home. It is against the DREethical standards to entice someone to stop paying their mortgage in order tomake a sale. These twoare bad news here in Temecula and Murrieta, CA. They need to be stopped and the department of real estate is notdoing anything.
