Called me got me to sign up for magazines and wont let me cancel

I was called about a year ago to get magazines in the mail. I signed up but then i changed my mind so i called them and they said i couldnt cancel so i just made payments... Up til now. Once i went online and found usacomplaints.com i stopped my payments to them. All i want is to stop getting magazines in the mail and have my money returned to me. Also since i havent been making payments automatically cause my debit card was changed by my bank for other reasons, this Periodicals company sends me a bill monthly. Now they have sent me a bill saying that my account is seriously delinquent and an audit of our records has sorted your account. If i dont keep making payments, will this hurt me or my credit in the long term?
