Scam, false sign up

I received a bill from this company for a telephone number that I do not even have or own from them. The address on envelope was to my residence with my first name spelled differently. I called them up about it and spoke to the rep and she said it was probably a sales person that goes to the Illinois Dept of Public Aid offices that signed me up...
Well I do not go to Public Aid as I am full time employed. Apparently these sales reps are out there tricking people who are down and out into giving them information.

I am in the process of writing a letter to this company and also notifying a few other places like the states attny and the better business bureau. I want them to send me a letter stating that this was sent in error.

I am curious as to what and who obtained my information, and I already received some offer from ADT installers with the bogus mispelled name on the letter so obviously they are handing out this information to third parties for mailings and who knows what else.
So in addition I will be going over to their offices in Berwin to demand documentation.
