Nathanael demanded 50% payment upfront on an illustration job and never delivered the final product

I hired Nathanael Lark via craiglslist.org to do illustrations for an animated project. I offered 25% up-front and 75% upon completion of the job. We met and I took him through all the work, he then asked for 50% up-front because it was so much work. I agreed. He dragged me along for the entire schedule until the due date. When the due date came he stopped communicating with me and I never heard from him again despite numerous emails and phone calls. Very unprofessional and a basic thief. Not only did he take me for $500 but he also wasted over a month of my time. I highly recommend never working with him.
