Over $1360.00 fraudently charged to my checking debit card

On Friday, Feb. 5th at 8:54am, my auto deposit was posted since it was pay day. I logged on at 9:30am as I always do to make sure my paycheck deposited. I noticed 2 charges, both for $684.57 from this UPS internet WayBill GA... 800-811-1648... One charge was posted at 8:55am and the other at 9:13am... My debit card has a daily limit of $1500.00 or I feel they would have wiped me out...
I immediately called the 1-800 number listed which goes to the UPS in Georgia. I explained this to her and she asked me if there was a tracking number posted on the description with my bank account. I told her no, that these charges were just done and they are in the "hold" section of my available balance... They are due to clear on 2-8... She told me that I would have to wait until they actually posted as paid so I could get the tracking number... I then called my bank and told them I feel someone has stolen my debit/credit information and has charged 2 fraud charges against my available balance in my checking account... They told me that I would have to wait until the charges actually "post" and then I could file a police report... This is also a brand new card... Just activated on 2-1
I feel like I am out $1360.00 which is money I use to live on... No one I talked to seemed too conerned that a crime has been committed...
My bank did not even suggest that I close / cancel the card
Has anyone else heard of this scam and what can be done
