Sankey Systems Corp. (kirby Vaccum Dealer) Lied about job duties and who they were

There was a add in my paper that said
*Attention*
$250.00/wk. Bring home Full time positions must be filled by Sept. 1st. We train so no exp. Required. Secure your personal interview by calling Mrs. White at: 8XX-XXXX Fri-Tues. 9am - 6pm.

I called and I was told on the phone that a typo was made in the paper and that it was Mr. White I needed to talk to. I went in for the interview. The secretary or receptionist was the one answering the phone. I heard others call about the add in the paper and he told them on the phone like he did me, that it was a typo that they needed to talk to Mr. White and that was him.

Later on I heard him talking to Triple A, he told them his name was Josh Sankie. A person waiting on a interview asked the receptionist (Mr. White/Mr. Sankey) what the job was and how many positions were open. He replied, he had know clue, that he was just a receptionist.

I went into the interview room and the lady told me her first name and that they sold Kirby vacuums. She said she only took her job on the condition that the owner would pay all the employees under her 250.00 a week because she wanted to make her employees happy. And there would be no door to door selling and I would not have provide my own customers. She told me that I would work in a group and just demonstrate the vacuums and a person would come behind me and finish the deal.

I was phoned later that night, Mr. Sankey told me I was hired and to come in two days later for training. When I went into training I found out that Mr. White was in fact Mr. Sankey and that the lady who interviewed me was his wife. I was trained for a couple hours on hour the vacuum worked with 8 people.in the third hour we were told that we were not going to get paid for our training unless we took the vacuum for the weekend and demonstrated the vacuum to our friends and family and try and make a sale with them. We were going to be paid 10 for each house we demonstrated and 250 if we did ten.

I told Mr. Sankey that I had nobody to show it to so he said that I would just go with him on his demonstrations that weekend and he said our training was done for the day. Later that night Mrs. Sankey called me and said she didn't think I was right for the job. I think it was because I did not give them new people for their vacuums to be demonstrated to. I did not get paid for my training.

I don't expect anything from this report, I just wanted it on file. They really seemed like shady people to me. Mr. Sankey acted like he was Mr. White, there was no Mr. Or Mrs. White that worked there. And his wife acted like she was not married to the owner in my interview and misled me during it on the pay and the work. I filed a report with the bbb. I copied and pasted the report here. I realize that most likely they will not do anything but after reading reports on other kirby dealers that is is a common thing. I have not worked for awhile so I figured I would give it a shot but I could tell from the begining that they were just a scam. I wish I would have just got up and walked out when I knew they had lied to me. There was no way I was going to torture my family and friends by making them watch me with the vaccum. I was willing to try and sell to people who were interested in the vaccum but not force it on people so that I get paid. If I can keep one person from getting scammed I will be happy. I understand that there are actual employes that make it in kirby companies and not all dealers are bad. But some are!
