Silver Star Kennel AKA www.silverlabs.com has been investigated and uncovered that they are a puppy broker. This is a company that purchases puppies from another breeder or individual and sells them as theirs. They offer warranties which will not be honored or even acknowledged! Silver breeders are taking over the market selling very poor quality as silvers can only be produced by 2 labradors carrying the dilute gene. Breeding silver colored labs to other silver colored labs produces litters of all silver pups which are being sold for $900-$1500. They are being sold with no restrictions so that others can jump on the band wagon and start breeding litters of silvers that can make an investment of $900-$1500 turn into $9000-$15,000 the first litter produced! This is causing the silver poulation to suffer from genetic problems as well as pollute the labrador gene pool. Something must be done to stop these breeders as the more they sell the more they produce or in Silver Star Kennels position the more they obtain from backyard breeders.
