About a month ago, Chase Bank informed me that my CD has matured and if I decide to renew it for another year, the interest rate will be 0.25 %! I refused to accept my CDS renewal, because American Express had advertised an interest rate of more than 1.5 %. So I decided to transfer some $50,000.00 from my Chase account to American Express for deposit in a new CD.
