Hi. I'm an eighteen year old college sophmore. I was home sick with pneumonia when I got a call early one morning. They said I had been entered into a drawing to win $25,000 dollars, a trip for four to Australia, and a new car. That for taking their survey I would receive a free diamond bracelet, and four magazines for the price of $4.99 a month. I was out of it on anti biotics and like a fool was hooked. I took their survey and gave the card number for the $4.99 price... As they kept talking the price increased to $68.92 a month... Then soon reduced to $40.00 after I showed alarm to that amount of money. I tried to hang up on them but they called me back. They then told me that the card would be checked today to see if it would go through... That it wouldnt be charged. So I relaxed a little because the money I had in there was for school books. But when I checked after they hung up with me they had already taken the money out. I now have my mother yelling at me all the time for being unresponsible and unreliable... I was sick and fell for a stupid scam... Plenty of people do it. But now I'm out $40.00 and nervous they might take it out again. How do we stop them?
