I purchased a Kia Optima from this dealership, and I got screwed, and didn't even get to press charges or smoke a cigarette afterwards. Seriously they are crooks!
I purchased my vehichle from Central Kia in Lewisville, and have had several challenges with the Lewisville, Irving and Plano dealerships! Run from these crooks disguised as car dealerships.
When I first purchased my car, I was told that it had only been used as a rental car for Enterprise and that Central Kia does a strict background analysis on every car to ensure it is not a lemon before they put it on their lot. LIE! I bought a car that was 6 months old, and had a plethora of problems. Their common practice is to sell you a car, call you in a few days, and say that they got you a better finance deal and to come in and sign the new paperwork. The second day I bought my car this is what they did, I got my payment lowered, but they offered me an extended warranty with a finance company that pays for my oil changes, fluid changes, tune ups and basic upkeep of my vehicle during the term of my note that I paid on the car. I thought 5 years of no oil changes for $30 a month. Great! I am in outside sales, and put alot of wear and tear on my car, this seemed like a steal. I signed the new paperwork and was told I would receive the new contract in the mail. It never came.
Within my first week of having this LEMON, I had a flat tire. I hadn't hit anything, no nail on my tire, it was a bad tire. So I went to change the tire with my spare, and their was no SPARE. I called the Lewisville dealership, and they told me that they did not provide spares on used cars. I told him it wasn't like I had a FORD PROBE. It was a 2007 Kia Optima, and it was just 2008. I had to contact their corporate office in Plano, and their manager in Plano called Lewisville to tell them that all cars came with a spare tire, only then would they give me a spare and a new tire, since the one they put on the car was old and worn out.
My A/C kept going out. Finally after the third time of taking it to the dealership, and almost running over my 60,000 mile warranty I demanded to see a diagnostic of what was wrong. The other 2 times (within 6 weeks) they kept saying it need coolant, finally when I demanded the dianostic they said the condensor had to be replaced.
I would take my car in reguarly to get oil changes, after I reached 30,000 miles they said I was over the warranty for them to give me free oil changes, when I bought the vehichle it had 8,000 miles. I told them this is not what I was told or agreed too. They asked for the contract I signed, guess what? I never got a copy of it. I went to the sales office repeatedly requesting a copy, and was told again and again the finance company had to send it to me and they would call to request it. I finally got sick of the run around and asked for them to have the finance company fax it to the dealership right then and there, they said they wouldn't do it. I still do not have a copy to this VERY DAY.
I continually had electrical problems on my car. My check engine light would blink on and off all of the time, when I had the dealership look at it, they said it was an electrical short and there was nothing they could do, but it was fine. My car finally got to a point were if I was below 30 MPH it would act like it was going to die, and then surge and jerk forward. I took it to Central Kia in Irving and they said I needed new cords on my engine and wanted $800. At this point I told them I would have to wait, and they said it should be fine to run for about another month. Really? Because of all of the service issues I had with Central Kia, I took it to a family friend that is the service manager at Toyota of Irving. He ran a diagostic and it showed that the ignition switch was bad. I paid to have it replaced, and the car wouldn't turn over at all. At that point, he put his best electronic guy on it and the computer was bad. I then took it to a competitor Kia dealership and they said the same thing. I took the diagnostic and the car to Central Kia of Lewisville.
I then told James in the service department that by federal law if a vehicle's computer or cadallitic converter went out before 80,000 miles by law the dealer had to replace it. I left my car there, for it to be replaced. I called and called, nothing. I finally went by there after 4 days, (because they do not provide you with a rental even if they are at fault) and the mechanic had the KIA mechanic book out trying to figure out what was wrong besides the computer because they did not want to have to pay for it. I called the Regional Service Manager and he admitted that they had to find someway to make money off it because it was too costly for them to replace the computer, and not get anything back. I asked for him to put this in writing, he cussed me and hung up.
I then received a call saying they fixed it, I asked if they had driven the car and James told me it drives fine, however it does jolt a little bit if it drops below 30MPH. That was the whole reason I had it looked at in the first place.
I ran the cars VIN number on car facts on my vehicle had been repoed 3 times and wrecked twice. Only a rental car my a*&.
I would love to go in on a class action lawsuit with anyone that has been deceived and conned as well. I have contacted Paul the owner numerous times, sent 4 letters and no response. If anyone has any advice on how to pursue this legally please contact me
