Crappy internet and "cable" service

They try, I have to give them that. The fact of the matter is that they are incapable of setting up a reliable internet or cable service. I live in a community where they were contracted to install and maintain our internet and cable.instead of running cable to the each building it serpentines around the complex piggy-backing from building to building. So if one building goes out every building after goes out also. There have been times where they have disconnected one building to trouble shoot a problem but then never let the building know that they have disconnected it. I have called to find out what is going on only to have them tell me they were waiting for the call so they knew who to turn back on. Our internet is constantly out and the only benefit to it is that our community is very unified... in our contempt for our providers. You want to see people suddenly start seething, just mention Why'rd.

Our cable is not much better. It is a watered down version of Dish that they subcontract. We have one dish located at our clubhouse and it feeds the same way our internet does. Having a box costs as much as to just have Dish Network come in and set up a private dish just for the one home so you see people who are paying double (HOA fees plus the monthly dish fees) so they can have the box and DVR etc. It is not uncommon to have channels either missing or playing the "Congratulations, you have Dish 500" message.

They try to provide 24 hour tech support but with the economic downturn most of their staff is gone so the phone transfers to the main guy's cell. So if you call at 9 or 10 pm you had better hope that someone else has called too otherwise he will say he will come look at in the morning.

I hate to see people struggle in this economy, but when you cannot provide a promised service you have got to go. If you are looking for internet and cable, look elsewhere.
