Dealing with scamy salesmen

Miscellaneous

I bought a used car from Dodge city in Milwaukee, wi. Also with a Gold pluse (5 yr 60,000mille) Fedelity warranty contract. At the time I purchased the car I asked the salesman excatly what the warranty included and how long the warranty was for. He then showed me the back of the warranty which had a list of everything that was included in the warrany. The service contract information was check 5 yr 60,000 miles. Because I was worry about my first (and now only) warranty I asked him a lot of question... He told me the warranty was from the DATE OF PURCHASE* I went to get my car fixed today and found out that the warranty had expired the first of this year. I found out through Fidelity that this warranty was for a new car. Here are the details of the Service contract period...

Coverage under this Service contract begines on the "Service Contract purchase Date" shown on the fron of this contract and expires according to the Term or Mileage if the plan selectedm whichever occurs first. Plan expiration is measured in Term/Mieage from (a) the "Service Contract Purchase date" and O miles of the "Current Odometer Reading" is 5,999 or less, or; (b) January 1 of YOUR vehicle's model year and 0 miles of the "Current Odometer Reading" is 6,000 miles or greater.

The salesman told me this contract began on the date of purchase. Not Jan 1st 5 years after my car was made. Why would I have bought the warranty for $2500 if it only covered half of the time I agreed to? The salesman wasn't honest and needed to lie only to make a sale... So now I'm stuck without the warranty, paying for a expensive repair leaving me broke. A friend of mine told me that he quit cars sales because he was trained to scam consumers. I can't believe saleman are TRAINED to scam consumers and are allowed to get away with it! Something has to be done about this! After reading the fine print I guess the fine print wasn't fine enough!
