Gift Certificate Not Honored

Rottermond Jewelers Practices Deceipt on Their Gift Certificates -I purchased a new wedding ring mounting for my wife for Christmas 2008 (Dec) at Rottermond Jewelers. When I went to pick it up, the salesperson undercharged me by $400. I informed the clerk that she was making an error, and that I, in fact, owed $800 - not $400. Because of my honesty, the owner, Dean, issued me a $100 Gift Certificate (GC). Today, I returned to Rottermond's to purchase a Christmas gift for my wife, using my $100 GC. I showed the GC to the salesman, he showed me items, and I selected a pair of earrings. As he was ready to ring my purchase up, he went to Dean to "validate" my GC, and Dean refused to honor it - instead, telling me it was only good towards an "engagement ring or wedding ring". The GC itself made NO mention of this, nor did Dean inform me of this back in Dec when he issued the GC to me. Again — buyer beware! Rottermond jewelers practices deceipt on their gift certificates.
