Scam artist bilking investors for deadbeat family overseas

Burt Webber has scammed millions from investors to fund a "treasure hunting" expedition in the Dominican Republic. From the original crew that was onboard the R/V Hispaniola there are only 4 of 13 left. To my knowledge the other 9 are all owed substantial amounts of money while the project continues. While the project required experienced divers he hired 3 of his children and I can tell you 2 of them were not divers and can barely swim. The reason for Webber not paying his ex employees is simple, we are not there. Out of sight out of mind. This is an illegal tactic in direct conflict with the US jones Act.investors beware, it's possible he can find something of value but I would highly doubt you see any return as this is a very dishonest human being. As long as people invest, his sons enjoy a cozy lifestyle in the Caribbean drinking every day and playing with their nazi memorabilia until the day the vessel is seized by authorities. At which point the crew gets paid first and then the investors get to experience "twisting in the wind".
