Norvergence
Cheated employees, made false promises regarding the salary to be paid

Miscellaneous

This company made false promises regarding the salary to be paid. Their advertising prominently reads $30,000 a year salary. It was explained at the interview (also in writing which I have) that the weekly salary consists of two parts:

(a) A base salary of $480 a week
(b) plus an attendance bonus of $675 a week

For a combined salary of $1,155 a week or $30,030 annualized.

(Two points of confusion here. The company literature refers to the $30,030 as the base salary.in regards to the attendance bonus, it was explained that the entire $675 amount can be forfeited even if you show up late once for whatever reason).

During training class, the instructor announces that during the first payroll period, only the $480 amount and not the promised $1,155 would be paid. I questioned the instructor who said he didn't know why. I asked the person who interviewed me who claimed he told me that the lower amount would be paid (this is a lie) and I asked him why the switch and he didn't have an answer for me either.

As it turns out, I'm no longer with this company, my attendance record was perfect in the time I was there and I got paid the lower amount. As far as the switch in salary goes, this company continued to advertise the same salary as before for weeks on end.

Another example of a company using the bait and switch routine to get you to join up and then defraud you (the employee).
