It all started when I got locked up over something so stupid and petty that it makes me embarassed. Once the aresting officer who I won't say his name refused to let me get my medication for my Bipolar, and Anxiety condition to bring to jail with me. I co uld understand the fact of me bringing my meds in to jail could cause a problem but me not having them in jail caused me to have a psuedo seizure. I fell to the floor and hit my head on the concrete. Oh did I mention that I am a blind person. I tried to respect the law and kindly told the guards and the people on the radio that I had the money on my credit card to bail out. They wouldn't let me. I asked to get my first phone call and they gave me an 11 digit pin for the phone in w hich I couldn't read because of my visual impairment. I tried to remember it but it was just too many digits. I told them that and got repramended and they told me because of my blindness that I was using that as an excuse. Yeah not the sharpest tools in the shed. I couldn't even get a wrap to stop the bleading. When I finally talked one of the guards in to helping me use the phone I finally was able to call my father after 6 days and let him know I needed to get out. As they were charging me 45 dollars a Calender day to stay in jail. I'm on disability and that ate most of my check and I was unable to get my daughter a birthday present. They ripped me off by making me stay in there and not allowing me to use the phone or letting me use my credit card to get out but also charging me daily as they held me captive. I have contacted the A.C.L.U. And I am hoping to get results for their abuse of justice and authority. I'm feeling really mad at the fact that when I came too I had four Officers yelling in my face to get off the ground and that I was faking a seizure.
I was taken off of xanex zyprexa and zoloft Cold Turkey. I Believe any doctor knows that the particular combination of medication can and most likely will cause a seizure. I hope someone out there will see this and Cause media Attention to the neccesity of Medications for Inmates, and Detainees.;
