Miscellaneous

Total waste of time. I was searching on craigslist for a job that I could qualify for when I came across this one

No experience needed/full time management position available asap

So I called their 141st & Sandy Blvd # which at my point in time is 503-xxx-xxxx cause their other store #'s; Beaverton and Milwaukee phone numbers were disconnected. So I got in touch with the 141st and Sandy location, however nobody was there to respond on the telephone so I left a message. They called back after 15 minutes identifying themselves as Lucrative Management in response to my message. They wanted to see me for an interview the following Tuesday at 12 in the afternoon so I did.

I went and searched this place out. I arrived in the parking lot behind the plaid pantry. I still had trouble finding the location because They had no business sign & Muey (One of Charles Secretary's) after calling her on my mobile phone and talking to her guided me to a Sewing & Gift card Store (even though she could see me in the parking lot)???

I waited around in the gift card store till I could talk to the store clerk and introduce myself and what I was there for and the clerk puzzled looked and me and then understanding who I was looking for told me "Oh your looking for the perfume store off to the side of us. I don't know why they keep directing people to come over here when there actually located over there." redirected me to there actual location. I went introducing myself to Muey at the Lucrative Management and they gave me an application and told me to sit in one of there chairs, that Charles's was busy teaching a class. Being that I showed up 30 minutes early they gave me an application and I filled it out.

On their application they wanted to know my name, address, phone #, two job references, and what other people would rate me. At this point I was wondering why they didn't want to know very much about me? I mean when I walked through the front door of the place it was broken. Some people were there fixing it and there was a water feature and rap music playing in the room I was waiting in at the same time.

Just before I would piece together everything, Charles's walks in. The Branch Manager of the store location that I was being interviewed by. He had a very distinct scar on his jaw (Like he had been burned there or had some kind of operation or something) dressed in a business suit, directed me into his office with 3 others that were waiting along with me to follow me in. I sat down in and he introduced himself, talking very fast about who he was, the company he worked for, the Management job he had to offer, how much it paid, the benefits that came wit the job, and what he was looking for in his applicants; Clearly pointing out and stating during the interview that he had an up-to-date business license posted in his office saying that scams don't have a business license. I looked at it, saw it and believed it, dropping my guard. He then concluded the interview with what 2 qualities that made us unique. He went around asking everybody this. Starting out with the person on my right he said his was customer service and something else I didn't remember, I took the time to think of what I needed to say, something original and different. He dismissed that guy and moved on to me. I told him I could convince people to buy things and I could make somebody smile, which really wasn't a stretch of the truth cause of my experience working as a sales clerk. He liked it and asked me if I could make it for a second interview the following Thursday between 5:30 - 6:00 and I told him that I could. He then concluded that meeting with me saying he wanted to see me again dressed to impress.

The following Thursday I came back into town. I was busy getting back in at 11:30 in the afternoon. I get a phone call from Muey asking me if I could make it for the second interview at 12 in the afternoon. I told her I couldn't. That I was told the interview was at 5:30 - 6:00 in the evening so they rescheduled me for next week, Thursday at 12:00. I was fine with that thinking there was a misunderstanding. The following Thursday I showed up in my own business suit and when I showed up 30 minutes early they turned around and told me that they moved the interview for next Thursday. I was upset that they didn't call me to tell me that and Muey admitted that she forgot to call me. So I left and came back the next following Thursday (being 3 weeks into this) and finally got the 2nd interview.

I was lead into this room with a dry erase marker board, a pumped up tire in one corner with a rhino on top, and in another corner some blue exotic fish in a fish tank with a speaker system, T.V. And in the back of this room another picture of his "business license", a bulletin board with stuff written about him on it. Didn't closely examine what it said but it was there. Around the side door of his classroom of plastic lawn furniture was a hallway which lead to his bathroom and his pool table with 12 pool balls, 3 were missing.

So the second interview begun with a high pressure setting. I had to take notes quickly and I did (which I will file away and I will pull them out and go into detail about what I took notes on if there is a legitimate reason too) He spoke quickly so I didn't have the time to organize my notes while he spoke about the job. So to briefly go over what I took notes on here it is. He talked about the company, what I would be doing as a manager, the qualities I would have to have, the differences between store product (JCPenny's as his example) and their product (Lucrative Management), the phases of training, how I was going to make money (though he did admit I was not going to get rich while I was in training I will give him that), why they claimed you will budget 30,000 a year, benefits, vacations, and company events.

He later went around and passed out a National Screening Application (which thank god I still have and will file away) which requested my name, date of birth, address, apt#, City, State, Zip Code, phone#, marital status, # of Dependants, Do you: (own a home, rent, live with parents), drivers license #, Social Security #, type of auto you own, license#, personal questions, 3 character references, and a legal signature.

I did not fill this out. I took the application home with me under the fact that I wanted to make sure that everything was correctly filled out. The interview ended after 4-1/2 hours and I went off to class.

I called my mom and told her what happened with my day and she got suspicious and did some research on line. When she did, the informational complaints about this business pulled up on this website and she immediately called me back to inform me that they were a scam business that sold fake colognes and they made all these false promises and have a number of complaints. So I listened and didn't turn in my National Screening
Application.

Later on today, while I was in the middle of typing this. Some guy from Lucrative Management calls me and reminds me that I was invited to orientation (in reality I think they were really after my screening application cause of my social security number that they would acquire).

I remember watching this new movie called Batman: The Dark Knight. Feeling inspired by the part where Morgan Freeman met up with the Chinese dude on the run from the Gotham City Police and he had the mobs cash locked away in Hong Kong. Anyway I said in response.

"I do appreciate you bringing me out there with such style but I need to tell you that my willingness to take on this job offer must be put on hold. You see, I really can't afford to be seen doing business with, whatever your accused of being. I'm sure a business man of your stature would understand."

His response to that. "We really weren't like what other people have said about us, we really are looking for a manager."

Then I said, "I didn't want you to think that I was deliberately wasting your time, but, with such a negative history dating back on you guys. I don't think I can undergo with this." Then he hangs up.

According to my notes. You would not get paid directly but the ways they described you will make money while in training was. O.W.B.E.X. (whatever that is) said it was a check that comes every Tuesday

Bonuses - paid in cash

Cash Incentive (incentive meaning from my understanding of it is their willingness to pay you. Since nobody wants to pay bills that would probably be no money)

Tuesday Night Bites - Take you out to eat

Box of Wonder - reach your hand into a box, grab a piece of paper and see what it says.

Sales Profits All and all my advice to you is this place is probably a scam and a complete waste of time. They will not sign your unemployment sheet, they will not pay you, and you will be screwed over with nothing to gain.
