Convenient Stores - JP Petroleum Employer Misconduct

My wife worked for Jones Petroleum for a year as of September 19th, I am a minister and in my line of work we move at times to take other churches or positions. We found out in early August we were being sent to Arkansas to plant Churches, she gave her notice that she was leaving on September 26th due to my reassignment. She worked until Saturday September 12th, when she went into work they told her that she has become a liability and therefore was taken off the schedule. This happened a week before her scheduled vacation. She has never called in sick, and has always answered when they have called. They are denying her vacation pay, and will not allow her to work out her notice. They told her on September 14th that it is there policy not to let employees work out notice. Can someone help on this issue, it seems to me it is illegal.
