Teak table and chairs cracked and browned after first rain

I bought a teak table and chairs, weatherproof, from the rain forest of Bolivia and guaranteed to withstand the weather. I paid over 1000. I brought it home, and it took 2 days to put together. The very next day it rained, and that table turned brown and started to crack, to the point that my daughter got a big splinter in her hand. That is how dry it was.

I went back to Home Depot numerous times to no avail. Even when I called the complaint center, they gave me the runaround. A year passed, and I got in contact with a gentleman who gave me a phone number to corporate, and a rep from Bolivia called me stating it needed teak oil, on which I had already spent 50 dollars. Months passed, the person I spoke to sent me a bottle of teak oil and cleaner, and that is it. I never heard from anyone again. What a waste of time and money spent on this Hampton Bay product that is worthless. A response with a resolution would be helpful.
