Feel like a fool now, but felt legit then... Placed an order but I doubt it's coming... Ever!

Miscellaneous

Placed a magazine order with a very nice, young, gentleman on Feburary 24. Ordered the "Nickelodeon" maganize for my 5-year old daughter. I even let her pick it out... Worse, so did he! Like the other posts I have now read, he also said he was trying to raise money for college and for prizes. He said he was going to school to be a teacher, like myself. When he left, he said to watch for his name as he planned to some day be "teacher of the year." I think he's more likely to win "con-artist of the year."

I had ordered from something like this before, back when I was in college. Yea, it's a little more expensive, but so are all fundraisers. At least, I received the magazine I ordered back then. It's been a little over 5 months since placing my order and I have a feeling it's not coming.

The worst part of all of this is how long this company has been in operation. I have a feeling that most people, like myself, don't research or complain about a company until AFTER being screwed. Is there another way to get the word out to warn people BEFORE they write a check or hand over their money? There has to be a way to put these people out of business.

I have also read horrible stories by some of the "kids" they recruit to work for them. It's almost like a prostitution ring. But, instead of selling sex, they sell magazines... Well, they say they're selling magazines, but you actually get NOTHING! They send these kids out to neighborhoods, armed with lies and empty promises. They're training these kids to be scam-artists... Common theives. I'm sure they steal from the kids too.

Yes, I was cheated out of $46 and that pisses me off... That's a tank of gas! But, since I doubt I'll ever see that money again, I'd feel better just to know that SOMEONE out there is doing what they can to put these people out of business! It was my choice to pay that price for a magazine subscription, but I expected to get the magazine. Since I have received no magazines, I feel like I've been robbed. Think I'll call the cops and file a report just like any other robbery. What's the difference?! That kid basically came into my home and took $46 from my wallet and I want it back!

Please help close these people down!
