I sat down with Amy walling of the marketing company in March 09 and explained to her what i needed done for a event that was going to happen May 2. I explained i needed advertisement on BET and other major local avenues in OKC. With this Premise she started deceptively making promises about all of the venues she would Place our "advertisement" (Press Release) which are free spots that have no specific market at all.in our contract she promised to Create the creatives from Direct mailers and logo design and commercial spot and benches. We prepaid her $1675.00 for this to be done. The benches were late after deciding what to put on them Three weeks before the event, they incorrect contact information. We took a poll at our event less than 10 people form her methods of advertisement showed at our event. We had over 200 people there at our event and the rest were direct invites and others were from additional advertisements on BET and P2 that i had to pay for outside of the prepaid 1675.00 that was supposed to be used on the promotion of our project. She tried to charge us an hourly rate after volunteering for a pre release event. She also double charged us of things and i have her husband recorded and he admits we were double charge " we don't care if we double charged you we just want our moneys". Basically Amy walling and The marketing company placed our event in jeopardy by not placing the event first and going after avenues that fit the event. One company picked up our press release and thats a small promotions company. Basically save your money if you want your advertisement dollars to be worth it, either learn how to promote yourself or hire a Firm who will not place your event in Jeopardy.
