Prize Information Bureau
Fake sweepstakes company lies about possible winnings

Miscellaneous

I recently got put on the list for the publishers clearing house sweepstakes and then 1 week later got this in the mail. I was like "wha?". As "official" as it may look, this had red flags all over it if you're not stupid. First of all, "State of colorado commissioners of registration" may sound official, but when you think about what it even *could* mean is merely laughable. It doesnt exist is what Im saying. Second the company is in Las Vegas, NV with a Post Office Box for an address. Helloooo red post office box flag! / wave! But... The biggest, most obvious red flag is that they want you to send them $20. I nearly peed my pants laughing! NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER... Send ANY company ANY money EVER to get what they say is "your winnings". When you actually win something, they will call you at least to tell you you've won and you will talk to a REAL human being. They will NOT sell you anything. They will not ask you for money. They might even show up in person... After telling you they are going to do so. NEVER NEVER NEVER give anyone your SSI information over the phone either. If you're a winner, and lets face it, you will probably never win a sweepstake and neither will I, they will never try to get any information from you because THEY ALREADY HAVE IT.

Do not fall for this rediculous scam.
