Sarah Joyce, JobNexus HR Team JobNexus job postings are a scam front for shady web businesses Internet Florida

Miscellaneous

I applied for what appeared to be a legitimate job (personal assistant to a working mother) on the craigslist site for my town. A couple of days later I got an email in response to my application. The letter said I was under consideration for the job, and asked while waiting to hear from them, would I please take their 'personality test'.

The first page of the test had 35 questions requiring you to select your preferred personality traits. That seemed legitimate enough.

The second test page had links to 'sample' web-based business offers, the claim was made that JobNexus screened people for internet marketing businesses. The job I applied for had nothing to do with internet marketing, so this raised a red flag.

You are requested to complete each sample form with your own information, then return to the second test page and answer comprehension-type questions about each form (a total of 3 sample forms).

It was readily apparent that the 'sample forms' were real ads, even with pop-up windows if you closed the windows prematurely.

Here is the email I received (the nearly exact text of which I have seen posted on the Internet on another anti-scam site):

Thank you very much for your interest in our Craigslist job posting. This email is to notify you that we have received your inquiry and that, in the next few days, one of our representatives will review the information you have provided.

Now please take the following steps:
1. Add resume@jobnexus.org to your contacts in your email account - this is to ensure the emails we send to you don't end up in the spam folder, making you miss out on interview requests!

2. Given the high volume of applicants, we require that candidates first complete our online personality test. Click Here or type this link in the address bar in your browser: http://www.jobnexus.org/quiz.php and follow the instructions.

Your JobNexus ID is: 01324. Please make a note of this as you will require it during the process of your application.

If you're a good match for our current needs, we will contact you directly to arrange an interview.

Best of luck,

Sarah Joyce
