Paying balance on no interest promotion doesn't work

I got the no interest promotion when I got a loan to fix my truck. I missed one payment (May) and was late on another (June). When I asked to close the account and paid the balance they asked me to pay in order to close it; they terminated the promotion and stuck me with the interest. They are still charging interest and late fees through July. I paid if off June 15. You can't win. Does anyone know of a way to best them on this? An attorney is expensive for $168, but something should be done to stop them. This is ridiculous.
